A scientist building the institutions Africa deserves

Dr. Ahmed Abdulkadir Hassan-Kadle is a veterinary epidemiologist and One Health scientist whose career has spanned pastoral field clinics, international research consortia and the founding of new African institutions.

 

He serves as Vice Rector for Research and Innovation at ZUST and as Executive Director of ARACHTI — the Abrar Research and Training Centre — a hub advancing science, training and policy on zoonotic diseases, food systems, climate resilience and health-systems strengthening.

 

His work has secured over USD 13 million in competitive research funding and has reached more than five million people through humanitarian and livelihoods programmes, reflecting a rare commitment to bridging peer-reviewed science and community-level impact.
